There Must be Something in the Water…
And we’re back! With a heavy assumption of course. I have to know just what is in the water in Canada? They are doing things so right musically. I can absolutely say each Canadian band I’ve seen has NOT disappointed. Last night was no exception, but it was a mission. Booked a flight to LA for what amounted to about 30 hours to see cleopatrick. In the midst of the pandemic the released their first full length album, BUMMER. And let’s just put it this way I was anything but bummed out. In fact I’ve been consistently bopping to that since it’s release. So I had wrangled my friend Rachel into going with me months ago. And in the chaos of moving this snuck up on us both, but she was game to get the show. So we did what anyone excited for live music being back would do. Grabbed some food, grabbed a beer and buckled up for what was sure to be a fantastic ride.
We caught the end of the openers, Ready the Prince’s set and they were phenomenal! As the guys from cleopatrick took the stage you could feel the pulse and love of music in the crowd. It was, electric. And then there it was sanjake, the song that originally got me into them. And we were right back in it. Like live music never left. Granted we may have been in masks but it was so good to be back at home getting lost in music with people who love the same vibes.
Canadian artists are bringing such a solid vibe into the rock world. As this tour is just kicking off I would absolutely recommend catching them on a tour near you.
